cone classifier
Mud separating bucket, also known as cone classifier, is a simple grading, desliming and concentrating equipment in the shape of an upside-down cone. An ore feed cylinder is set up at the center of liquid level with the bottom edge immersed in the liquid level by some depth. The pulp is fed into the center cylinder along the tangential direction and discharged out of bottom edge after buffering. The outgoing pulp flows out of peripheral overflow weir in radial pattern. In the process, coarse particles at the settling velocity higher than ascending component velocity of liquid flow will settle down at the tank bottom and discharge through sand settling nozzle at the bottom. Fine particles flow into the overflow chute together with surface pulp. Ore feeding particle size is generally less than 2mm and grading size is 75μm or finer.

Mud separating bucket has the merits of simple structure, easy manufacturing and no power consumption. As its cone has large capacity, it is able to store ores in the production flow. Currently, it is mainly used for desliming of raw ore before the hydraulic classifier to improve grading efficiency; also, it could be installed in front of the ore grinding equipment for concentration and dehydration of ores so as to improve feed concentration of ore grinding machine; when used in front of various slurry sorting equipment, it is able to control ore feeding concentration and amount.
